Discuss Symptoms With our Dentist
It is important to discuss your oral health with our dentist. Providing our dentist with this information will allow for a better understanding. If you are feeling sensitivity or any discomfort in your mouth, revealing this is recommended to treat the issue before it worsens. Our team at West York Dental Care in York, Pennsylvania, wants you to feel comfortable and will assist you with any dental issues you may be experiencing.
Discuss Your Daily Dental Routine
In addition to all of the above, it is important for you to discuss each and every aspect of your daily dental routine with our dentist. Our dentist will discuss proper teeth cleaning methods and also answer any questions you may have.
After studying your dental health history, our dentist will examine your gums, teeth and mouth. This procedure is known as a comprehensive exam and is performed to study the state of your dental health and hygiene.
After the comprehensive exam, our dentist will take an X-ray of your mouth, giving a clear picture of the status of your teeth and jaw. These scans are taken to better analyze oral disruptions, diseases and cavities. X-rays are suggested whenever a patient comes in with a severe problem or routinely after at least a year has passed, considering the state of teeth has probably changed in that time.
After the dental check-up, our dentist will discuss your results with you.
After meeting with our dentist and discussing any treatment you may need or answering your questions at length, you will be scheduled for a follow-up session at your convenience. The follow-up session will be mostly for cleaning and preparing your teeth for any upcoming procedures.
It is highly suggested that you schedule follow-up sessions twice a year to prevent any cavities, tooth decay or oral health issues from developing. During these routine checkups, teeth are usually cleaned and treated to ensure that they remain in good shape.
